  • Puzzle Dependency Chart

This puzzle dependency chart utilizes five distinct symbols to construct the game. The first element is places. Places are very important in forming a text adventure because the game progresses by moving from one place to another. Next are objects. Objects serve as hints or prerequisites for obtaining key objects. Key objects are essential for moving to the next place. Finally, verbs are a limited set of actions that define how players can interact with the objects found within the game.

  • Build Platform: Quest

To build this game, I used the Quest as a build platform. Quest is a software dedicated to build text adventures. They provide GUI to create game. Also, useful functions such as logging entire adventure or creating an adventure map based on places and direction appears within the game are provided.

A New Turing Test

I envision machines that pass my own version of the Turing test: “Can we play with them?” I remember the moments of playing co-op video games with my little brother under a shabby tent made of chairs and blankets. I cherish these small, precious memories—they’re still alive within me.
